BLACKPINK has once again reaffirmed their status as the “Queens of the Music Industry,” with critics and industry outlets recognizing them as one of the most influential artists of the decade. Their countless records both as a group and individually continue to solidify their groundbreaking legacy.
Most recently, MTV announced BLACKPINK’s nomination for “Group of the Year” at the 2025 VMAs. With this, the group made history as the first act ever to be nominated both collectively and with each member individually in the same year.
Rosé now holds the record for the most VMA nominations by a K-pop act, being recognized across eight categories including Video of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Pop, Best K-Pop, Best Direction, Best Art Direction, and Best Visual Effects for her hits “APT” and “Toxic till the End.”
Jennie and Jisoo each earned their first solo VMA nominations in the Best K-Pop category for “Like JENNIE” and “Earthquake,” respectively.
Lisa, already the K-pop soloist with the most VMA wins in history, received her 6th nomination in the Best K-Pop category.
With these achievements, BLACKPINK has not only raised the bar but also cemented their place in VMA history and global pop culture.
